A Story by Tommy (Year 8)

Once upon a time, in a small town nestled between rolling hills, there lived a young woman named Clara. One fateful evening she found herself wandering through the woods that surrounded her home. The nook hung high in the sky, blasting an ethereal glow over the landscape, illuminating the path ahead. Clara had always been drawn to the mysteries of the night, but this time felt different. As she ventured deeper into the forest, an unsettling silence enveloped her, broken only by the rustling of leaves and the occasional hoot of an owl.
As she walked she stumbled upon an old, abandoned cabin. Its weathered wooden walls were covered in ivy and the windows were dark and empty. Curiously, she approached the door which creaked at her touch. Inside the room the air was thick with dust and the scent of forgotten memories. Clara’s heart raced as she explored the dimly lit space, her footsteps echoing in the stillness.
On a rickety table she discovered a dusty bottle of wine with its label faded and peeling. Feeling adventurous, Clara uncorked the bottle and poured herself a glass. The rich deep colour of the wine sparkled in the moonlight as she took a tentative sip. The taste was unlike anything she had ever experienced; smooth velvety and surprisingly comforting. As she drank a warmth spread through her and the shadows in the cabin seemed to dance around whispering the secrets of the past……
